Carmen Resort is a must-visit place. I love the river and the water is too cold. For 20 pesos(entrance fee), you can enjoy the pool, river and can even marvel and wander around the place. The place is kinda far but accessible, just expect an hour of travel from Mintal, Davao City.
My friends and I decided to go there last August 17,2012 to celebrate my friend’s 21st birthday. Fun to the max.

How to Get There:
If you are from Downtown Area(Davao City), you can ride a jeepney/L3/bus en route to Calinan,just prepare around 35 pesos/person as a fare. Upon reaching Calinan Proper, you can hire a motorcycle for 100 pesos(good for 2,one-way) to take you to Carmen Resort, Calinan.
The entrance fee of the resort is 20.00 and you can go directly down to the cottages near the pool but of course you have to go through the 300 steps(more or less) concrete stairs … going down is fun..the trip all the way up id the real challenge..just consider it as an exercise….

i think there are only 2 closed cottages there..when I asked someone there about overnight rates and the closed cottage..500 daw. not sure. 🙂
